NATSICC Acknowledgment Plaque in place in Whyalla.

Plaque installed in Whyalla

Fr Brian Mathews has sent in an image of the recently installed NATSICC Acknowledgment Plaque in his Whyalla Catholic Parish. Whyalla is part of the Port Pirie Diocese and on the lands of the Barngarla people.

We are very grateful to Fr Brian and his Parish for organising the plaque, as it is a visual way to show respect for the Traditional Custodians of the land and to acknowledge the continuing presence, culture and contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples within the life of the Church.

It also serves as a simple but meaningful reminder to all who enter the Parish that recognition and reconciliation are part of our shared journey together.
