Anointing Packages
We are proud to launch a new initiative designed not only to support clergy in ministering to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are sick, but also to provide familiarity and comfort for those receiving the Sacrament of the Last Rites.
“This initiative is yet another way NATSICC is working to bring Faith and Culture together, ensuring that sacred Catholic Traditions are delivered in a way that respects and embraces the spirituality of First Nations Peoples” said NATSICC Councillor, and project coordinator Sally FitzGerald. “We hope to provide some comfort to those that are suffering”.
The NATSICC Anointing Packages consist of:
Aboriginal print stole
Jerusalem Olive wood hand cross for the patient
Olive wood heart for the patient's wife/ husband/ visitor
Olive wood Rosary bracelet with a booklet on how to pray the Rosary
Small plastic container with a cotton ball for the priest to use when anointing the patient
Prayer booklet for the priest to use when administering the Sacrament
Prayer booklet for the patient to use....and/ or their family
A tea candle
Accessing Packages
