New appointments at ACM Melbourne
The ACM Melbourne is located in Thornbury, Victoria.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne has announced two important appointments to Aboriginal Catholic Ministry (ACM), welcoming Kerri-Lee Barry as Head of Aboriginal Catholic Ministry and Kamara Morgan as Administration Officer.
The appointments mark a positive step forward for ACM as it continues a period of listening, discernment and strengthening relationships with Aboriginal Catholic communities across Victoria.
Kerri-Lee Barry is an Aboriginal Catholic woman with more than 25 years of experience in journalism, communications, leadership and community engagement. Her extensive career includes roles with ABC, SBS, NITV and 3KND Koori Radio. Most recently, she served as Indigenous Lead for SBS Audio and Manager of NITV Radio.
In her new role, Kerri-Lee will provide leadership for ACM, support its day-to-day operations and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal Catholics, Elders, families and Church partners.
Joining her is Kamara Morgan, a proud Yorta-Yorta and Gunai-Kurnai woman with experience in administration and community engagement. Kamara has previously worked with the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service, Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency and Aboriginal Housing Victoria. She is also currently studying nursing at Australian Catholic University.
The Archdiocese has emphasised the importance of allowing both new team members time to listen, learn and build relationships with the community as they settle into their roles.
NATSICC warmly welcomes Kerri-Lee and Kamara to their new positions and looks forward to working alongside them in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics and strengthening their place in the life of the Church.
We also thank and acknowledge Ruth Willatt for her presence, care and commitment to the ACMM.
Aboriginal Catholic Ministry is based at 434 St Georges Road, Thornbury. You can contact ACM at (03) 9401 6380 or acmv@cam.org.au
