Prayers for Youth

Daily Prayers

Dear God, be with each of us this day. Help us take a moment to feel your presence, and the strength and courage you provide. May your presence lift our hearts and our souls and enable us to direct all our actions toward you. Help us be faith-filled people as we carry out your great work today. Amen.

Dear God, help each of us use the gifts you have blessed us with to enhance this community. May we be willing to give of ourselves, as Mary, the Mother of Jesus did, to make this community one we can all be proud of. In giving we will attain greatness, for in this way your love is revealed through each and every one of us. Amen.

Dear God, keep us strong so that we can carry out your works: feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, clothing the naked, and being a voice for those who suffer persecution. Bless us this year, so that we may all experience rich friendships, authentic success, and purpose in all we do. Amen.

Dear God, we thank you for our families, for those who provide care for us. We pray for the families who struggle to find food and shelter. May the support that we lend brighten their days and comfort their nights. If one day we are in their place, may we be willing to accept the love and generosity of others. Amen.

Dear God, give us the strength to reach out to others in need. May each of us discover our gifts and use them to make the lives of others a little easier. May we always be willing to make sacrifices for the benefit of our fellow human beings and do this in loving service to one another as Jesus taught us. Amen.

Dear God, may we take time today to search within ourselves and see the gifts you have blessed us with. May we not be jealous of the gifts of others, but nurture and celebrate our own gifts. In giving of ourselves we say thank you God, from whom all our gifts come. Amen.

Loving God, bless each of us today. Help us nourish a deep faith that brings us closer to you with each passing day. As we open our hearts and minds to your love, may all our words and actions be a living witness to the wonderful love you have for us. Amen.

Dear God, help each of us recognize the power we have to help make a difference in this world. Let us not be disheartened by cynicism and complacency. Let us recognize the power of our actions. May they serve as an example to others and bring them out of their suffering and despair. Amen.

Good and gracious God, it is good to have ambition and to strive for goals. However, when we expect too much of ourselves and of others, we can drive others away and we ourselves can feel a lack of meaning in our lives. We must be more accepting of who we are and who others are. Though this is not easy, by accepting who we are with all our weaknesses, may we have inner peace and make room for everyone in our life. May we see ourselves and others as your children and treat everyone accordingly. Amen.

New Semester or New School Year

Loving God, we pray for your blessing upon each of us. May we approach the beginning of the school year as a new start. Help us form friendships with those who enable us to become better persons. Friendships will enable each and every one of us to shine. Help us develop our faith so that we possess courage and confidence to develop the gifts we have been blessed with. Help us be compassionate and loving people so the world may know your love and healing power, O God. May this year be one of great peace and happiness for us and our families. Amen.

God of life, may this school year be filled with academic and spiritual growth. May we each be willing to help others. Help us come to know Jesus better and follow the example of love that he shared. Give us the strength and faith to make his love known here on earth. Amen.

As we begin this school year, O Lord, may we make the right choices so we will learn better. May we listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, which is a powerful guide in all the decisions we make. We ask this through Jesus our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Dear God, beginnings are not always easy. Changes are difficult for many of us. We perform to the best of our ability when we feel comfortable and relaxed, so we pray today for the sense of calm and comfort that your love brings. May each of us feel this comfort in our hearts. Help us share the wonderful gifts you have blessed us with. Amen.

Good and gracious God, we know that with faith and trust in you all things are possible. During this new beginning help us each feel your presence and your calming influence in our lives. May the knowledge and awareness of your power assist each of us as we learn during this year. Amen.

Dear God, you have blessed us with friendships. Help each of us be open to meeting and making new friends as we begin this school year. Give us the wisdom to tell which friends will be there to help us no matter what difficulties we face. Bless these friends and keep them close to us always. Amen.

God of all creation, as we begin this year we pray it may be filled with great spirit, fun, excitement, and of course enjoyable and meaningful learning. We know that the year depends in great measure on what we give, so let us give as much as we can to make this year a wonderful one. Amen.

Loving God, help us begin this school year with a renewed spirit of love and faith. When life’s challenges seem to overwhelm us, may we rely on your friendship and love. When our studies cause pressure and stress, may we feel the sense of calm that faith brings. When we let faith work in our lives, everything falls into place. Life is filled with peace and everything takes on fuller meaning. Amen.

As we begin this year, O Lord, give us the confidence to be ourselves and share our gifts. We ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we meet new people. May we find and form friendships that help us develop all our gifts. May we feel comfortable in being ourselves and be blessed with friends who accept us as we are. Give us the courage to live out our faith in our studies and our extracurricular and personal lives. Grant us peace in who we are and joy in all we do. Amen.
